i want to capture the little things that would otherwise be lost. i never want to forget how to wonder or how to wander.
fred macpherson at the spector gig in reading last night.
this is a raw scan from my disposable camera, once i’ve got some editing software on this laptop i’ll clean the pics up and upload them but for now here’s my favourite of the night. managed to catch that little half smile he does that is the most adorable thing in the world and UGH I WANT TO KISS YOU RIGHT ON YOUR GODDAMN FACE.

i have an obsession with capturing details. i don’t want perfect photos, i want to capture the essence of places so my pictures remind me what it was like to be there. the spiky shadows the cathedral projected onto its own walls, the delicate carvings and the intricate stained glass were all facets of leon cathedral’s incredible presence. i also tried to avoid showing any of the scaffolding that covered one side of the building. the inside, photos of which are on my other camera and will hopefully come shortly, was glorious, with the stained glass to stone wall ratio swung well in favour of the former, resulting in an incredible otherworldy space like nowhere else i’ve ever seen.

i adore gaudi. his work is the architectural equivalent of porn. he has designed only 3 works outside of barcelona, 2 of which can be found in the leon y castillas region. i love this one, right in the centre of leon, with its beautiful fish scale like tiling and delicate spindly towers.
